Seafarer: The Ship Sim invites you to take the helm of your career. Interact with different factions each offering its own missions, challenges, and rewards. Transport goods from one harbor to the other, be a firefighter on the open sea or just explore the massive world – you’ll find endless opportunities to experience your personal seafaring adventure. From the humble charm of a small tugboat to the colossal power of an ocean-going cargo vessel, the game features unique ships, each meticulously crafted. Out on the open sea, unexpected encounters await you — answer a desperate call for help or salvage lost goods.

You can play the game in Story Mode and experience an interesting narrative spanning all factions over several missions. If you want to jump straight into seafaring action you can do that with the Quickplay Mode. Create your ideal seafaring character using the character editor, allowing you to customize your captain’s appearance and bring a personal touch to your journey.

We're offering a wide variety of mission types for cargo transport and coastguard operations, such as rescue missions and fighting fires.

Key rebinding will be added sometime during Early Access.

Early Access specific questions

What is included in Early Access?

Early Access will give you a first look at key features and content, allowing you to experience and shape the game before its full release. While we’re not revealing everything just yet, you can expect a variety of missions such as coastguard operations and cargo transport, meticulously crafted ships, and a stunning open maritime world. 

How long will the game be in Early Access?

We are currently planning for a full release sometime in 2026.

How often will you be updating the game?

We have a couple of major updates planned for Early Access, plus we will release additional patches and hotfixes as necessary.

Will my progress be saved during updates?

Yes, but we cannot guarantee the same for Full Release.

Will the price change when the game leaves Early Access?

The pricing will most likely be increased when leaving Early Access.

Can I provide feedback and bug reports?

Yes, please do. We have an in game bug reporting system. Additionally, please leave your feedback in the bug channel on Discord or in the Steam discussion board so that we can collect and evaluate all feedback.
